Mara HellendoornMara Hellendoorn has been with Lemstra Van der Korst since November 2016. She is specialized in dispute resolution in matters involving corporate law and financial law.
In 2015 Mara took her master’s degree ‘Ondernemingsrecht aan de Zuidas’ at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and her LL.M. ‘International & European Law’ degree at the University of Amsterdam. While taking her master’s degree, she both spent a term studying at UC Berkeley (California) and at Cornell University (New York). Her doctoral theses dealt with the changes in the European state aid policy at the time of the financial crisis in support of the financial institutions.
Before that Mara had completed her bachelor’s degree in Law (cum honore) and her physics and social science degree at the University of Amsterdam. She also took part in the ‘Introduction to American Law’ summer program organized by Columbia University (New York).
In addition to several traineeships in the legal profession, including at the New York office of NautaDutilh, Mara also had a work experience period at the Central Criminal Court in London.
