Gijs Berkhout specializes in corporate and insolvency litigation and has vast experience representing clients in proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
As a dispute resolution expert, he advises and litigates on behalf of companies, their directors and shareholders in various disputes concerning inter alia company takeovers, directors’ and supervisors’ liability and shareholder disputes. He also acts on behalf of clients in security rights related litigation.
Before joining Lemstra Van der Korst, Gijs was a member of the M&A and Securitization practices at Loyens & Loeff.
Gijs is a member of the Association of Corporate Litigation (‘Vereniging Corporate Litigation’) and the Dutch Association of Insolvency Practitioners (‘INSOLAD’). He teaches in, and publishes on, both the field of corporate law and insolvency law.
