Rufus acts for clients in corporate and commercial disputes, both in (international) arbitration and in litigation before courts. He has vast experience representing clients in complex disputes arising from corporate transactions and international business.
He often acts as counsel in M&A disputes and joint venture/shareholder disputes, Enterprise Chamber proceedings, and matters on corporate fraud and director’s liability. Rufus also has extensive experience in (international) arbitration on commercial contracts and investments, and in related court proceedings and enforcement.
Rufus has represented clients that are active in various industries and include (multinational) corporates, private equity firms, investors and entrepreneurs, as well as executive and non-executive directors.
Before joining Lemstra Van der Korst, Rufus practiced law at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek in Amsterdam and Singapore and subsequently was a partner at a disputes firm in Amsterdam for 5 years.
Rufus is a Board Member of the Dutch Arbitration Association, as well as a member of the Corporate Litigation Association (Vereniging Corporate Litigation).
